THE BARISTA LEAGUE: GOTHENBURG

ROUND 1 – BARISTA SKILLS
Teams had 15 minutes to dial in and present their best espresso to three esteemed judges. Using a washed Esmerelda Geisha from Kaffa Oslo, teams had to present three espressos to the judges along with taste and tactile notes - all looking for the perfect espresso!
ROUND 2 – SENSORY SKILLS
Team members will be blindfolded and given 5 clear plastic glasses. In those glasses will be items with scents commonly associated with coffee. You will have 5 minutes to guess what might be in the cups.
ROUND 3 – MYSTERY ROUND
A triangle cupping - with a difference. We tested if teams could tell the difference between brew variables. Ratios, extractions and temperature were changed on the same coffee and teams were pushed to identify the different brew in the quickest time possible.
