While Jalisco is famed for its agave fields, it’s also home to exceptional coffee farms that fuel Guadalajara’s vibrant and growing speciality café scene. This time, join us at C3 Stage—a massive, centrally located venue over two floors with multiple stages, rooms and world class sound and lights.

Coming together for one night only, The Barista League: Latin America will welcome 6 Special Guests, featuring the biggest names and expertise from Latin America (and beyond), plus 20 of the region’s top baristas competing head-to-head on stage, a carefully curated Brew Bar ranging from brand-new talent to the industry icons, and our industry-leading partners such as Oatly, Toddy, Rancilio, and more, bringing you a night of games, challenges, and prizes. Sofía Hernández is a barista, roaster, and trainer at Degas Café in Tampico. She placed 4th in the 2023 and 2nd in the 2024 Mexican Brewers Championships and has also contributed to the industry as a Sensory Judge at Café Con Pan 2024, volunteer at the World Coffee Roasting Championship (CPH), and World Brewers Cup (Chicago).

Fabrizio Seed is a two-time Mexican Barista Champion and runner-up at the 2012 World Barista Championship. A key figure in Mexico’s specialty coffee scene, he is also the founder of Cafafefest in Guadalajara, a platform celebrating coffee culture and community.

Focused on advancing Mexican specialty coffee, she works at origin with producers and represents the EmPath Foundation in Mexico, helping connect the global coffee community.

At The Barista League: Latin America, we’re hosting Café con Jiribilla, Drip, Mutante, and Almanegra from Mexico City, Taller de Espresso, Paralelo, and Barbo from Guadalajara, Cosmos from La Paz, and Baristas Bravos from Tijuana – with more to be announced! Get ready to discover unique coffees you won’t find in your neighbourhood cafe and get nerdy with the people who make it all happen.

We don’t think the competitors should be the only ones getting in on the action and winning prizes!

‘Guess The Temperature Profile’ with Rancilio Specialty. Head to the Rancilio Specialty booth to put your palate to the test: Taste two or three espressos brewed on the RS1 and see if you can match each one to the correct temperature profile used during extraction.

Take on the ‘Guess the Origin’ challenge with Toddy. Designed to test your sensory skills and deepen your appreciation for diverse flavours found in coffee from different regions.

Play the ‘Flavour Challenge’ with 1883 – guess the correct flavours and win a prize!

Take part in The Barista League’s ‘Mystery Infusion Challenge’ – this challenge is set up exactly as it is on stage for our competitors. Taste 5 mystery infusions and identify them on the SCA flavour wheel.
